Full Throttle

Post by Spoonroom »

I played Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island 1 on my PSP without any problems, but I'm having problems with Full Throttle.

It seems that the loading takes too long. It's all fine when you actually play, but for cutscenes and where there's long conversations, it starts loading and then the game hangs for a while. When it continues it skipped part of the conversation or cutscene.

I'm using firmware 1.50 and playing it from the Datel 4GB drive.

Any ideas?

I've heard the Datel HDD is considerably slower than a regular memory stick, and I guess seek times are worse too, which seems like a likely cause for the problem.

Unfortunately I don't own the HDD, so there's very little I can do about it.
For now, I suggest you play games from a memory stick instead.

Yes, the Datel drive is definitely slower than the memory sticks, but its still faster than a UMD. I thought it might be that as well, but then why don't I have the same problem with Day of the Tentacle?

Unfortunately I don't have a memory stick anymore to test.

Anyone else here using the Datel drive?

Because DOTT loads less and smaller data from only 2 or 3 files instead of a couple dozen files like FT?
