Is it possible to use the same folder for the save-files under WIN XP and Linux?
I know how to change the directory, but I'm not sure if win-savs are compatible to linux-saves.

They should be compatible.

make sure to have that save directory on a FAT partition/usb stick; Linux isn't that good with writing on NTFS partitions yet
