Goblins 3 Speed Issue?

I am playing Goblins 3 (german/CD version) with ScummVM 0.10.0pre Build from 06.07.

No bugs so far, but scrolling the scene with the mouse especially to the left is a little bit difficult.

Now I am in King Bott's room. For me it is impossible to get the shoe when it lands in front of the guard, even when I immediately click on it, the guard picks it up a sec before I am there. Could this be a speed issue or I am still too slow?

for the scrolling issue, http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=3692 has a workaround (enabling mouse-capture by pressing ctrl-m)

as for the puzzle, I think there was discussion about it somewhere on the forum too - I think you need to perform another action to get it (can't remember, never played it)
