No sound in Commodore64 version of Zak McKracken?

Post by Marc »

Hi,

Is it correct that the Commodore64 version of 'Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders' has no sound? Or is it just me. Sound on other games works fine -- but none of them originally had SID sound of course.

<moderatorial: info removed, rule #0>
I actually have the original 5 1/2'' disks here as well, but they don't fit in my PC :P

I'm pretty thrilled that it works at all BTW, well done! I tried playing it on a C64 emulator before but with a joystick instead of a mouse it's pretty tedious :)

Cya,

Did you check the compatibility?

...which makes me think:

Has anyone ever considered adding SID sound to ScummVM? There's a GPL licensed library available here, however I guess it would require major restructuring because the C64 sound is neither MIDI nor sampling-based...

It's probably not worth the effort I guess
