Must I free about 13MB of memory to run this great soft??

Post by gfgodoy »

Hi, I've been a great fan of LucasArts since I was like 7 :) My big brother introduced me into it...

Since then I played those games a lot of times and even got the on scummVM on my XP :)

but since my dad gave me a Tungsten E2 I've been having a great time playing Monkey1 and DOTT on my palm! But I have a really big problem...

Your ARM version (and the snapshot one) doesn't work unless I have something like 15MB free on my palm (It gives me a message saying that he couldn't copy the engine files becuase I don't have them (and I think I got them :? ) or that I don't have enought memory.)
So my solution is as LucasArts is more important the my job itself I have unninstalled DocumentsToGo and got more space, and it works like a charm :)

IS there anyway I can run this baby with LESS memory??? Something like 8-10MB would be excelent...

Funny thing is: back in the good old day when I had my 386 I also had to free some memory to run the game LOL.

Thanks in advance.

Note: in your download section I can only see the ARM TEST version...
where is the link to download the other versions? (other than snapshot for instance...)

Thanks again and sory for my poor Braziliam english :P

You can free up memory by using something called PowerRun to run apps from your SD card instead of main memory.

I suggest PowerRun because I didn't like the way ZLauncher handled SD card apps, kept losing my categories, and took up a lot of space. Not to mention the crashes in the file browser...

PowerRun will work with any launcher, including the built-in one; it creates small shortcut-style .prc files that direct PowerRun to copy the program and its databases from the card, and back them up to the card when you're done. It's worked with a few programs that would ordinarily refuse to run from the SD card, such as the high-res Sim City.
