UIQ freeware MPEG2 player???

Post by jumpjack »

From the 0.8.2 readme:
...These cutscenes are provided in MPEG2 format with OGG Vorbis audio.
Viewing these cutscenes thus requires a version of ScummVM compiled
with both libmpeg2 (preferably 0.4.0 or greater) and libVorbis support.
...
Somebody in another forum replied that it would be possible thanks to libmpeg2 library. But, is this available for Symbian UIQ platform?
UIQ phones do not support natively MPEG2 clips, so escummvm could become... a freeware UIQ MPEG2 player! It would be cool! 8)

Well. even if it would be possible, the cpu in a UIQ phone would not cope with decoding MPEG2 using software decoders. I just tried abit FT on my P910 and.. well.. it does n't work.. and the part that works.. goes in slomo. And that for a 320x200 video.. and well.. after a while.. it just crashes.. out of memory I think.
