ScummVM Discworld 1 crash - Windows 10

Post by apoc.reg »

Hola,

Has anyone tried running Discworld 1 since windows 10 released?

Just did a fresh install of SVM 1.8.1 and pointed it to the Discworld folder, finds it ok but when I press start SVM just closes, no message.

Any chance someone else can test for me?

Thanks!

Been struck with Terry Pratchett related nostalgia all day!

The most likely cause is the additional support, a while back, for the original digital instruments definitions provided with the game. They weren't previously used, but the game now errors out if they're not present. If you didn't previously copy the needed files over, See the updated updated required files list, and just copy copy whatever's missing from your original discs

Great thank you I have got it working! Relief

I don't suppose you also know what to do with the renamed files for discworld 2? I know to rename the fiels from CD1 and CD2 as per that link but do I then jsut copy the contents of both CDs over to one directory or do I need to install it somehow?

Thank you again!

You just need to copy the files over and rename as needed; no other installation needed.
