FMTowns-Games: Mouse cursor encased in blue box

Post by Duestertroll »

Hello everyone,

I recently installed ScummVM on my Nexus 7 - everything runs smooth so far, very good work!

A small issue though: When playing FMTowns-Games like Indy 4 or Zak, the mouse cursor is encased in a blue box. This makes it a bit difficult to see where you're clicking. Is there any solution or workaround for this problem?

Thanks for any advice!

PS: ScummVM runs in the currently available version from Google Playstore. My Nexus has Android 4.2.2 installed.

I have the same problem with the FM Towns versions of Zak McKracken on Samsung Galaxy S3.

Edit: I found a closed forum about this subject what Henry169 started.
I quote Henry169:
”In the bus on mars I can not reach anything (like the recorder).

This problem is only WITHIN the bus - after entering the bus.”

I tried my c64 version of Zak on ScummVM 1.5.0 on Samsung Galaxy S3 and this mentioned error still exists on Android too!
I got an answer from md5:
„The problem has been fixed in the daily version of ScummVM, not the stable 1.5.0 release. Please, download the latest daily version:
http://buildbot.scummvm.org/builds.html
But this correction isn't for Android!

Both of you should fill up a bug report...

There actually is a bug report regarding this issue:

http://sourceforge.net/p/scummvm/bugs/6108

It's concerning the Wii-Version, but the problem is exactly the same on Android. Unfortunately it looks like the bug wasn't solved. :(

We still use the old sf.net bug tracker. So the correct link would be the following http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=de ... tid=418820.

We are now using the new tracker, so this bug is at:
http://sourceforge.net/p/scummvm/bugs/6108

Have updated this recently with some notes from LordHoto...

The big issue is still replicating the bug so we can investigate as few of the developers have FM-TOWNS version games.

AHA. I think we have located the likely cause! See here for notes:

Hello digitall,

Sorry but I'm not registered in github so I report here. However I can report in sf.net if you prefer...

The fix improves but it doesn't work as spected.

Before, we had a blue box with no transparency (it was opaque, you can't see under it)

With the fix, it has some transparency so you can see under it.

Here you have an screenshot:
