Smaller vitrual keyboard?

I'm playing some classic Sierra games like Space Quest (original) and I want to beable to use the virtual keyboard to move the character and type commands and still beable to see the screen. Because the default keyboard and I tried hackers keyboard, both of them take up half the screen. And there is no portrait option is there?
