QfG4 Character import

Post by MajinChibi »

hello,

yes i know qfg4 is not fully supportet at the moment.

I played qfg3 , there the import worked perfect. Now i finished it and liked to take my char to qfg4, but it always say it couldn't find any character.

Is that already implemented and i just do something wrong?

(i use a nightly build from 27. feb on ipad 2 5.0.1)

I am assuming you're exporting the character from qfg3 scummvm and importing it into qfg4 running on a dosbox or similar.

The export that scummvm makes is in the correct format but it is gzipped (like all scummvm saves)

You'll need to gunzip it to use it outside of scummvm.

He mentions iPad, so I assume he means he's trying it with ScummVM. There is an implementation for character import in QFG4, but it hasn't been tested at all (and as you mentioned, QFG4 isn't supported in ScummVM at all).

So, i made another try.

I patched qfg4 ( http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updat ... dates.html )

In dosbox everything works fine, but on scummvm, no matter if ipad2 or pc version, it doesn´t work.

The "Warning: FSNode..." is shown every time i try to import.

I've just implemented the needed functionality so that the QFG4 import screen will work. However, QFG4 itself is still work in progress, has many graphics glitches and it's still not supported.

The working QFG4 import screen will be available in the next daily version of ScummVM.

But when the game dont recognize your stats, and you have to type in a number from 200 to 300, nothing happens.
