Unfortunately there hasn't been any work done on it lately. Contrary to popular belief (primarily from the Sierra-on-Line fans), inclusion into ScummVM does not always guarantee instant and rapid progress.

Why you are so unhappy, take a look at the Subversion tree, the last chance was made before 9 hours.

And the work is quite hard for making a compatible engine for FF.

So dont be so evil

Yes, there has been some activity recently, after I wrote that post. I even made one of them myself, with some hand-holding by Kirben. It's the one responsible for drawing the most obvious graphics glitches right now.

Hi!

I recently tried to play my copy of Feeble Files but I couldn't. Reason: all my computers are running WinXP. So, I would like to know if there is any progress in making Feeble Files compatible to run under SCUMM?

Thanks

There has been some small progress in the ~2 weeks since I wrote there hadn't been any recent progress, but it's far from playable. At least for me, all I can do is walk back and forth between the first two rooms. I can't interact with any objects, the Oracle does not function properly, the cutscenes are not played, and there are plenty of graphics glitches.

In other words, it's still in its early stages, and progressing slowly. Though since it is an extension of the Simon engine, rather than a completely now one, a lot more of the ground work is probably in place already than is immediately apparent.

Wow thats great, in the newest subversion, i can use the video with the 3 messages.

the cursors dont work yet but the funtions are working, when you click 3 times right you can use the video

but after the 3 message it crashes

But just great work

EDIT

I could fly to metro prime, thats so great, but in metroprime itself there it crashes, but only sometimes, when i want to go right

But yeah, great work

I have a question for the smacker files

i found that on the internet

http://mplayerhq.hu/~michael/ffmpeg-dox ... ource.html

they used also smacker in there opensource ffmpeg video tool

And there is a wiki entry too with the whole file description

http://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php?title=Smacker

When other open source projects use that also, why scummvm isnt able to use that?

regards

ScummVM team is well aware of the possibility to play smacker files but prefers to wait some time and see if ffmpeg gets any legal letters first :-)

but with the Subversion Built version of today there is playing the wrong sound into the space bar , alsoways the same one.

And i cannot enter Metro prime it crashes

After the progress in the spcaebar i am not able to view the automatic animation where the agend 32 calls the major, it crashes, in the daily built of 2 days i can view this automatic animation

Look, we are still working on this. Bothering us with all the things that don't merely serves to annoy us --it won't get anything furthered at this stage. This is work in progress, and has nowhere been declared as usable or even, god help us, supported and usable by endusers.

So, if you can't stand the state it is in now, just stop using it for now. We'll tell you and everybody once we think it's good enough for public testing.

I think we all know its work in progress and we are all just excited.

Sometimes we might ask for the another feature request. But please forgive us as some of us might ask for the impossible.

I don't think any questions, suggestions or discussions is there to merely annoy the developers.

It's interest.. It's passion.. It's curiosity.. It's merely human :)
