Screen corruption on Mio 268+

Post by Ashtar »

I have a Mio 268+, which is meant to be a SatNav system but is actually just a WinCE4.20 PDA with an Intel PXA25x/26x ARM cpu at 400 MHz.

The screen resolution is 320x240 in landscape orientation.

I have tried a lot of different releases of scummvm, but they all give me the same problem: the app starts up, but the screen is completely garbled, so I cannot read anything. The cursor also shows up multiple times, kind of reminding me of a Windows machine with a dodgy display driver.

Are there any settings I can try in scummvm.ini to fix this? I'd really love to play Sam & Max on the road :-)

there is probably nothing you can configure thru the ini file. which version of scummvm did you use, the PPC2002 or the normal WM version? Can you also give a try to this one?

I've tried quite a lot of different versions, but mostly the PPC2002 ones (that is the proper one, right?)

The one you attached to your message gave the same effect as the others. It looks to me like it's trying to set some kind of incompatible resolution, since I can just make out the buttons on the right of the screen, making the image tilted 270 degrees.

Here are 2 pictures I took of the screen:

Is there perhaps a way I can enable logging / debug mode to get some more info about what's happening here?

Actually the proper version for you is the other one, but nevermind.
Thanks for the shots - the problem seems to be the landscape resolution. I'll see if I can reproduce the problem here and see what I can do about it. Since I'll be posting an updated version shortly, stay tuned.

OK, thanks. Just let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

If need be I know my way around a C++ compiler :-)

OK, it turns out my device is not a pocketpc, but a handheld pc... learn something new every day :-)

Somebody gave me this link:

which fixed the problem. Might be usefull for people with similar problems.

Thank you for the quick responses.
