GSoC 2018 projects announced!

Today Google announced the accepted projects for this year's Summer of Code. We are pleased and excited to say that ScummVM will be mentoring three students while ResidualVM will also have one student. All four of them will work on game engines:

Please welcome with us our four adventurous students for what we hope will be a productive and interesting summer! And you can follow their progress throughout the summer on the ScummVM Blogs.

We have some difficulties with Matthew's blog and we didn't manage to get it working with the aggregated ScummVM Blogs. If you want to follow his progress you can directly visit his blog: https://drenn1.github.io/

Edit: we can now properly see Matthew's posts on the aggregated ScummVM Blogs Smile

Hi can you let mathew know that the random text is in fact how the virus affects Spock - it's not a bug.

Hi,

I didn't really think that was the case, because the text doesn't match up with the audio. Spock speaks relatively normally when the text shows up. Though the end of his sentence is oddly disjointed.

That said, maybe this was their intention to begin with - that Spock's speech becomes slurred. But it just doesn't match with the audio. My policy so far has been to make minor changes to the text in order to match up with the audio, because sometimes they use slightly different wording. This is one of the larger changes I've made so far...
