indiana jones dies (fate of atlantis)

Post by marimari82 »

I got killed (?) by a nazi in the fate of Atlantis labyrinth.
I relied on the autosave and now I dunno what to do to restart from where Indy was...alive. Please Help!

You probably know this, but best not to rely _purely_ on autosaves as this is a single timed slot at 5 minute intervals: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/blob ... ADME#L1908

Your choices are basically:
1) Start from a new game and play through again... Maybe with a walkthrough to speed this up if you can't remember puzzle solutions.

2) Ask if anyone has a _compatible_ savegame from FOA for your version of the game just before that point... we don't have savegame archives and this _can_ get broken between versions of ScummVM, so good luck.

3) Use a boot parameter to warp to the relevant point... though these are intended for debugging and the game state might be a bit broken:
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Boot_Params

Your best and most reliable option is #1, followed by #2 and finally #3. If you do use #2 or #3, then odd game state bugs _may_ appear. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.

A bit? A lot actually. Most of the time, you're missing items you would need to progress beyond the puzzle the boot parm was meant to debug. Also all the variables related to other puzzles are not set, which may break them. That's why boot parms really are not a replacement for a savegame at all.

It is worth a mention though, that this rarely happens. ScummVM usually did quite a good job in keeping them usable after upgrades.

LogicDeLuxe see if this save game works for your version. It is for the GOG version. This is a fairly recent save.

This save is right before getting into the labyrinth. You'll have to figure out the code to open the door is.

Seems to work fine, using ScummVM 1.9.0.2 and the GOG version.
