Post by gatesbilloi »

Hello,
I have a problem with King Quest 7 (ver 1.51 CD version).
I Use original CD and latest SCUMMVM (1.10.0git5208 ... oct 14 2017) under windows 7 64bits.
Game seems to work very well but if a want to play intoruction scene , program crash with that :

parameter 0 : 0000:0001 (integer),should be reference
parameter 1 : 0000:0000 (null, integer), should be null, integer
parameter 2 : 0030:038d (reference), should de bull, integer (optional)
parameter 3 : not passed, should be null, integer (optional)
[VM] KShowMovie[13]: signature mismatch in method doOpenMovie::changeState (room 34, script 34, localCall ffffffff)!

I tryed compatibility (256 colors windows 95 ... etc)
Only video crash.Thanks.

I tried the original english KQ7 CD v1.51 with the daily build 1.10.0git5210-g55947e8 (Oct 14 2017 05:42:40). That's the closest build to 1.10.0git5208 ... oct 14 2017 that is still available.

It works without any problems (plays the intro without crash or error message).

I suggest to try a more current build (maybe it was a code glitch in a single build). If the crash still happens, try to copy the content of the CD to a harddisc folder to see if there's a problem copying the files (CD maybe not 100% ok anymore).

Thank you.
I checked my CDROM , it was in good condition (like new). I made an image with clonecd (no error) and mounted it with deamon tools.
I installed latest build (5208) and launched the game. When I want to watch intro , I have the same message as before.
I forgot to tell you it was the FRENCH version.
If you want to take a look , here is the CLONCECD .img : redacted
Self extracting archive (you can extract it with winrar if you prefer).
Thanks.

That's immaterial, you were violating forums rules. If you really want to see the problem fixed, and since you've verified the problem still exists with a clean install, I suggest posting a report on the bug tracker. One of the developers may have the version and be willing to look into it.

Besides being immaterial Sierra is very much alive with games being sold, even the classic titles via GOG and Steam.
