Rex Nebular and MT-32 (not working)

Post by CaptainJei »

Even though I've selected to use the MT-32 emulator in settings, the game still plays Ad-lib music. Is this a bug, or is MT-32 support not implemented?

Not all games have MT-32 music tracks, so those which do not will fallback to Adlib tracks (if present).

Also, some games which _do_ have MT-32 music tracks can not play these in ScummVM as the game engine has not implemented support for retrieving the MT-32 data from the games' datafiles which are usually not in any way "standard".

You will want to check the Music and MT-32 tabs as well:

Also, consider:

What game are you referring to?

Right, I was talking about Rex Nebular. Sorry for the confusion.

I was able to get the game to use the MT-32 tracks in DOSBox, so I'm assuming it's just not yet implemented in ScummVM yet.

Thanks for the links! Honestly I wish I understood the technical details well enough to help out.

Ah, sorry was being very slow. Yes, there is no code in the MADS engine which references MT-32 so not implemented:
