Myst (game loading on Android)

Post by Capnscotty »

Specs:
Nexus 7 2012 (Running 4.4.4)
ScummVM (Ver. 1.7.0pre)
ScummVM plugins:
Mohawk (Ver. 1.7.0pre)
Scumm (Ver. 1.7.0pre)
Myst PC CD data (Copied all data from original CD and placed in folder /sdcard/Download/Myst, tried just copying required data: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Myst prior to copying all data)

I have tried a number of installs, from the Play Market and downloaded apks. All of them come up with the same error at start: Error running game: Game data not found.

When I first start the game, I get the "...not yet fully supported..." warning and click "Start Anyway". When I click "About..." it appears that the Mohawk plugin for Myst and Riven is loading as it is listed there.

I have Riven as well and will probably try it this evening to see if there is something wrong with my version of Myst? When I added the game, i did recognize it as "Myst (Windows/English)". Not exactly sure what I am doing wrong here...thanks in advance for your help!

Are you running a daily build? 1.7.0pre sounds like it's not going to actually have Myst and Riven support compiled in.

Silly me?

I SWEAR I choose the nightly during one of my tests. Apparently, if I did, I must have had some data incorrect. Myst and Riven started after uninstalling the version above, as well as the plugins, and just installing the nightly (master).

Thanks for your shove in the right direction! :)

Hello,
there is anybody in this topic?

I have an android device (android 5.1.1) but I can't play the game: I get always the error message "Error running game: Game data not found".

Please, can you tell me wich release I have to download and install?

Thanks

@clone2727: I read your comment (1.7.0pre sounds like it's not going to actually have Myst and Riven support compiled in.)
So: there is a release that I can download and run for Myst and Riven?
In some other topic there's someone who get the right relese but I can't understand and find wich one.

EDIT: sorry for the cross posting, I thoght this where an abandond topic; thanks for delete the other one

Grab a daily build, as I mentioned. It's right on the downloads page, listed as "daily builds".

I downloaded the Android (ARM) lates stable build.
Than I installed the "scummvm-engine-mohawk.apk" and the "scummvm.apk".
But after added the game (the files listed on the Myst data files page) I get the message "Error running game: Game data not found"

Nope, you need the latest development build, not a stable build. The stable build is still 1.7.0, which is not what you want in your case.

Hello to everyone.

I finished Myst and now I'm on Riven, sequel to Myst.

The problem is: on my Android tablet (Samsung Tab S) I can't save the game, I can't access a menu where I can find a "SAVE GAME" command.

On my Macbook Pro I could save the game clicking on F2 or F3 or F5 (I don't remember and I uninstalled the game.

Thanks
