Pointer not running

Hello, I am new in here.
I ran ScummVM for the first time on my Win 8.1 laptop and everything worked.
As I ran the roms (tried with vga version of Monkey island and ega version of Indiana Jones), I can't get to use the pointer. I see the pointer in the whole desktop, but as I go over the ScummVM window, it disappears. So I can't interact go past the initial screen.
When I press the space button to pause the game, there I see the mouse pointer. But again, if I press space or right click of the mouse, the pointer disappears.
Where am I wrong?

How did you "run the roms"?

The pointer works normally in the main menu. So I can normally run the rom. But as game states, I can't ser it anymore except outside of the Scummvm window (where I do see the classic Windows pointer, not the ScummVM one.

Guess I worked it out guys!
I tried to download new Roms from the scummvm website and from a emulation reference website: now I still can't see the pointer on the title screens, but as I press "esc" the game begins and I finally get my pointer!

Still cannot understand what problem was it, but at least I can play!
