I couldn't install the GOG version because I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. So I downloaded the file from sierrahelp but instantly got a Trojan Horse warning from SEP (granted, I know it could be a false positive).

But if you simply rename the GK1.GOG file to GK1.zip you can extract the contents of the CD. Then add that folder to SCUMMVM and the CD version will be yours.

What is the real problem with GK1 why it is not supported in ScummVM?

It was the first SCI game using the newer SCI2 engine, which was thoroughly rewritten. A lot of the code for this newer engine has been written using guesswork, which is why it sort of works, but it's not 100% correct. Someone needs to find the time to rewrite this code properly.
