Firmware upgrade

Post by hyder »

Hello!
I’m developing software for a Windows CE device (c# and CF NOT Platform Builder) and one of the more interesting functionality that I need to implement is the ability to flash! The communication from a website to the device is working and fully functional, it’s just the method of flashing. I’ve tried everything… to my knowledge the method is to download the new nk.bin file and delete the existing one and then copy over the new file. But with CE 5.0 the response that I get is that the file is in use and can’t be accessed. So therefore I systematically killed each process but I realised the nk.exe file is running and cant terminated. I then tried VB 6 and get the same response, then I tried eVC++ 4.0 and that doesn’t work either!
I am not after source code, just the method of how to accomplish a firmware upgrade. Including the header check to make sure it’s the right bin file.

Please help!

That's nice, but what does ScummVM have to do with this? Why these forums? ScummVM doesn't flash anything.
