Discworld 1: Some parts of the characters dialogue missing

Hello,

I've installed discworld with no problems apart from the fact that some parts of the dialogue are missing.

For example at the start, in Rincewind's room, when you click the 'shape' sitting on the tower you can see out of the window he should say:

"Yes a mysterious shape, a sinister shape a shape fraught with...Shapeness. It must be a plot element otherwise there'd be a better label!"

But instead I get "That doesn't work!", the same for the diploma on the wall too.
The weird thing is the subtles for the missing parts are in english.txt, the game is still playable as all the major dialogue bits are there but its not them same without all the little details.

I understand there were to a few versions of the game on CD, is this caused because I have an early one with a known bug?

cheers,

Spotter

What kind of data files have you got? *.GRA (early version, with more bugs) or *.SCN (newer version, a lot of bugs have been fixed)?

That's the more recent version, yes. This may be an obvious question, but make sure you're right clicking on the dragon, and not left clicking. Firing up the game briefly myself, I confirmed that it will legitimately say 'That doesn't work' if you left click on it.
