Unresponsive black screen launching toonstruck (Mac OSX)

I just downloaded ScummVM to play toonstruck, i've put all the folders (DISC 1, DISC 2 and MISC) into a directory and successfully added the game to ScummVM but when i start the game, ScummVM just becomes a black screen. Any advice? Could it be to do with the fact that it's a dos game? if so what do i need to do? i have dosbox but how do i get it to work using that?

The fact it is a DOS game should not be a problem for ScummVM.

It would be useful to know what error messages (if any) you get. See the second paragraph of FAQ 5.6 to find out how to see the error messages on MacOS X.

The information you gave almost match the English DOS version we know, but the local.pak file appears to be different. This might be due to corrupted data files so I would suggest you try to copy again the files from the original media. If the problem persist them it probably means that you have a version unknown to us. You need to report the messages you have given in your post in our bug tracker. See FAQ 5.10 this time.
