How to fix?
Hello,
Why I receive the error "Fetch0bject: Section 128 is not open"?
I want to load my disc space, and I hope you will help me to fix it. Yes, it was already discussed, and no I just want my save file. Please help!

I'm really sorry, but your description is not clear enough, we can't really help you based on that.
Could you please specify: the game you're trying to play (and the language), the version of ScummVM you're using, your platform...
Best regards,
Strangerke

Judging by the error message, it's Broken Sword 1. The fetchObject() function looks for a data pointer in _cptData[128] but finds NULL.
I don't really know off hand what _cptData[] does, but slot 128 appears to be the very first thing that's loaded into it when I run the game, and I believe it does so by reading from the file COMPACTS.CLU. I have no idea why it would be NULL later so, as Strangerke said, we need more information. Much more.

More information
ok, I have Windows Vista 32 bit, yes it is Broken Sword and is in German. I have ScummVM 1.3.1. The error came some years ago, and then I gave up on it (I don't know when and why, but I know that I reached Spain). Now, several years later, I wanted to continue playing, but I forgot that there was this error. I tried it on DosBox, but unfortunately it can't run games which runs on Windows NT.

*What does that mean? I copied and pasted the save files onto my desktop and back, is that what you meant?

Nope, what i meant was...
...grab your CD, copy all the needed files to your HD and try playing it to see if the error was caused by a corrupted data file.
Those strange errors mostly are caused by corrupted game data, you know...

I copied those files from the CDs to the default folder (I stored the old files for good measure) but there is still this error. Somebody please help... I want to play

Just to rule out (or confirm) the obvious, was this savegame made with ScummVM, or was it made with the original executable? (ScummVM usually doesn't support the original savegames.)

I don't think the original savegames are supported with ScummVM

Mainly because it's usually not a priority to handle savegames made by the original executable. It's far more important that ScummVM can read its own savegames, preferably regardless of which operating system it was run on or which version of ScummVM it was.
When people say "ScummVM isn't an emulator", what they usually mean is that ScummVM replaces the original executable. It behaves close enough to the original that it can play the game from the original data files, while an emulator would usually behave close enough to the original hardware that it can run the original executable.
I don't know if that answers your question whether ScummVM controls the savefile.

Does it mean I need to repair my old computer in my cellar, which stands there for years, to play a few adventures? Are there any alternatives for ScummVM? Can I "repair" the files? Can you fix the error somehow?
ScummVM should be able to read any savegame it has made itself [*] so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to play your adventure games, provided that they are among the ones ScummVM supports. As for alternatives, DOSBox is pretty highly regarded when it comes to running DOS programs. Incidentally, Broken Sword 1 was released for DOS so you may be able to use DOSBox to run that. But I don't think the DOS version was included with every release of the game, and I don't know if savegames from the Windows version work with the DOS version.
