Monkey Island 2 problems

Post by AG205 »

I know this is not the problem of the game or the software but as there is no proper (mid-game) keypad available on my Samsung Galaxy S (I9000), it seems to be impossible to get past the Lame-o-copy protection screen to start the game.

I know somebody has mentioned this before but is there a solution (other than admitting defeat & not playing this game)??

Someone in the archive said:
It is possible to get past the copy protection. You'll need to compile it yourself, get the tools at http://cygwin.com/ and http://www.libsdl.org/ . Get the source code at http://scummvm.sf.net/daily/ .

Edit the makefile, and in the DEFINES section, add -DBYPASS_COPY_PROT . Works like a charm.
Sounds good but, to be honest, this could be a foreign language for all I know. Could anyone do this for me?

Cheers

I've spent some time yesterday trying to get monkey island 2 on my i9000 to run - and eventually found a very easy way to work around the "missing keyboard" problem:

install scummvm and monkey2 on a different device (i used psp-scummvm, but i suppose any platform will work), do the lame-o copy protection there, then save.

copy the savegame (in my case "monkey2.s01") from the other device to the android installation (into the "/scummvm" directory).
