Monkey 1 Ultimate Talkie Edition (released)
Important notice: This is no warez! This is distributed as a patch, so that you need to buy and install the SE first in order to use it. This is a completely non-profit fan project, so I guess, rule 5 doesn't apply here. Plus it is software usable with ScummVM.
The "Classic CD Talkie Project" started over at LucasForums and reached beta status a few days ago.
Its main goal was to implement the SE voice acting into the classic CD version which you can play with DOS or ScummVM.
While at it, I managed to fix quite a lot of bugs, which were present in all those various versions of the game. Along with improvements like MIDI support and the restoration of some jokes missing from the enhanced CD.
If you like to try this, follow the project thread here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.p ... ost2744916
EDIT: The Ultimate Talkie Edition Builder 1.0 is out now. You can find it on its new home here: http://gratissaugen.de/ultimatetalkies/
Thank you ScummVM for supporting this.

I'm a long time lurker on Mojo. I haven't checked the forums for about a week though. I thought this had died.
There was a thread about this on the ScummVM forums before here
billwashere suggests wine (obviously) but I don't know if it's been proved to work or not.
Edit:
I forgot to say well done (and you even have a todo list!). I was hoping that it would be finished one day. I think I tried an earlier installer from somebody which didn't work for me at all.

I take it then that the 'Monkey Island Speech Project' was dumped in favor of using the SE voices?
That's disappointing, because I didn't want to have to buy another version for voices...

I've recently seen this blog:
http://lucasartsworkshop.wordpress.com/ ... ed-scenes/
And I was wondering: can those deleted scenes be re-activated in scummvm somehow? Do they exist in the actual game files shipped to customers? Or are they present only in the original source code?
Kind regards.

the article says that the relevant parts of the source code were commented out, which would almost certainly mean that they don't exist in the shipped game code (i'm not familiar with the original scumm compilers, but that's how compilers work in general).
logicdeluxe, keep up the great work i'll be sure to give it a go soon.

I just stumbled onto this thread, and tried it out with my MI:SE. I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it works, what a brilliant effort! So far I've only tried this in ScummVM with the SE audio, and speech, which works excellent! Kudos to LogicDeluxe Thanks!
Why is this thread in the Junkyard?? It works almost seamlessly within ScummVM itself!
