SMB Support

Post by MicroFi »

I know there's some kind of SMB-support in the Wii-version of ScummVM, but is it possible to load games through a SMB-share?
I've found the menu by pressing "1" in game and can correctly mount my share, but I don't know how to get any further.

Is there anyone who can help me?
Is it even possible to load my games from a share?

Thanks in advance!

I've not used the feature before myself. It's fairly new although it's always been possible to upload the ScummVM binary itself with something like dhewg's WiiLoad.

You say you can mount the share. I would of thought that it's just a case of selecting 'Add Game' after that.
Games on SD card are sd/. For USB it's usb/ so I assume a samba share will add something like a smb/ directory once you've selected 'Add Game'.

Well that's the whole issue, really.

The option to mount a SMB-share is only available in the In-Game menu.
Once you've opened a game, you can't go back to the main menu to choose "Add Game...".

I hope I'm making sense here.
And that I'm not saying anything stupid

I can start ScummVM and then press the '1' button straight away to bring up the 'in-game' menu. Before ever starting a game.

So it's not actually an in-game menu I guess. I didn't know it had that title.

Thanks Red_Breast, I'm gonna give that a go.
(I hope it's going to work!)

And yup.
Just tested it and it works very smoothly.

Thanks for the help, man!
