ScummVM doesn't start!

Post by G-Sus »

Hi!
I installed the ScummVM on my Nokia 3650(...after formating because I hadn't had enough space on my phone memory but I thought it's worth it;)) but now if I start it I see just its title and the icon but nothing else.
Can somebody tell me what I've done wrong??

Thx

The risk is that your 3650 has to little available memory to

be able start ScummVM. The exe for the application alone is 2.5 mb + extra allocation for screen memory etc. You would need at least 6-7 mb free internal memory to be able to start ScummVM

And there is no other way to reduce the memory needed by the ScummVM like deleting some features??

I just wanna play all my fantastic LucasArts Adventures on my 3650 :(

Well.. I can reduce the build.. to only include scummvm game

And not include sky, simon.. also I can disable HE games, and remove some libraries etc.. But still it will be a very tight fit. How much memory do you have over?

I used to have a 3650, and if you are very lucky, 3.5MB of free memory might be possible. I thing the best I could get, was around 2.8MB (my phone didn't have flight mode, which some people say enables you to free a little more memory).

You could check your free memory with TaskSpy

We can make version without Scumm in ScummVM.. then some of thegames (like Simon, Queen and Gob) only become only around 1mb to load. The smallest Scumm can be is 1.7 mb.. alittle bit smaller with out 7&8 support and no HE games.. say 1.5-1.5 mb..

But I only wanted to play LucasArts Games.
So it won't make any sense for me to make a ScummVM without Scumm.

Thx

Could somebody just try to make a port with just the scumm support???
Or can somebody tell me what I have to learn to do it by myself??
Because I would be so happy playin games like DOTT, Sam'n'Max, MI or all the other great games on my phone.
Thx for the port and for helping me!!
