Problems with .sog files

Post by mikescandy »

I tried SamnMax and DOTT using sou files compressed with ogg. The game starts and emits sounds, but crashes as soon someona starts to speak. Is it a known bug or is it a problem of my sog files?
Thanks, and sorry for my poor english!
i forgot to say that i'm using it on a Nokia 6630

SymbianOS port doesn't have Ogg Vorbis support, only MP3.

Well we already have an option to compile in the ogg library, but since memory is something we dont have a lot of, adding 100Kb or more of extra data, was n't really the option . But we are making buildscripts to allow more different kinds of releases to be made at touch of a script.

Also OGG will require more cpu power, and might not run as well as mp3 support.

nokia6630 and 6680 have a 220mhz cpu, so i guess they should handle ogg audio without any problem. anyway i'm going to compress my games with mp3 waiting for ogg to be added! thank you again, you are doing a great job! sadly my knowledge of c++ is very poor and I can't help you..
