Loom CD - Loading Times

Post by Paperman »

Hi @ll,

The new build of ScummVM is really great (especially the virtual keyboard ^_^).

But there is one problem with Loom (CD Audio and Talkie Version).
I am starting Loom, select the Difficulty and after all I have to wait 2-4 minutes to see the title screen.
Also if I want to check an item etc. I have to wait minutes to hear the item-sound.

I tested the same version of Loom on the PC with ScummVM, where I don't have these loading times.

Can anybody check if you have same problem?
If yes, can this issue be solved?

I've tried only the FMTOWNS version of Loom, including the soundtrack (ogg/vorbis), but haven't experienced any of your loading times.

So yeah, your problem should be fixable. I dunno what's the problem though.
Try another build to see if your problem goes away.

The question is how did you encode your audio track?

I have one big mp3 track (track1.mp3 - 00:54:38 - 50 MB )
Shall I change the encoding methode to ogg?

Sorry, we don't support illegal copies of the games. Original never contained MP3. The topic is locked.
