Surprise Surprise - Monkey Island 1 No Sound - Floppy

Post by Scotty_Bhoy »

Ok so I have searched the site all night, lots of instructions re the cd version of this game but not the floppy.

I have transferred the following files and the game runs perfectly, only problem - no sound effects

000.lfl
901.lfl
902.lfl
903.lfl
904.lfl

disk01.lec
disk02.lec
disk03.lec
disk04.lec

music.dat
sample.dat

There are other files such as windows batch files ROLAND and PCSPEAKER , prob sound drivers for original DOS.

Is there anything obvious missing here?

Cheers

That's odd. I thought music.dat and sample.dat were only in the Amiga version (where I'm told sound and music is not yet supported by ScummVM). But I don't have that version of the game myself, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Yep sorry I should have mentioned this was the amiga version. Is it only the Atari version which supports sound then?

Never realised Amiga sound was not supported.

Strange that the Amiga version would contain Windows batch files.

I've only bought two of the MS-DOS versions myself, so all I know is what the compatibility page says.

I decided to download WinUAE and use my kickstart roms to play with sound! Annoying as I like playing on the psp , quicker loading etc. Nostalgia overload.....
