Simon the sorcerer - speech with subtitle

im having trouble running simon the sorcerer.
I just can't make subtitles appear when the speech is on.
Does anyone knows the solution for this? Or i just have to live without subtitles.
In simon 2 it works perfectly

there have been numerous posts about this on the forum. speech + subs at the same time are not possible
