New to Dreamcast scene.

Post by PILMAN »

I am new to the Dreamcast scene. I was wondering how this whole SCUMMVM thing works for DC? I've used it before on my computer without problems. I was reading through another post that all I have to do is burn a CDI of the emulator and then put it in my DC, and then put in a copy of the game I own to play it on the DC?

I think you have to put the game datafiles + scummvm on one disk, swapping won't work

but then again I never tried it (but since nobody who knows better answered yet I thought I give answering a shot :)

The provided files on the site are what you need to burn a ScummVM disc. Though, it probably will not work, as one of the files needed for a successful boot is not included (the 1st_Read.bin. You can read about my adventure here).

Disc swapping is support in the latest release, and the older releases have it too. Though, I wouldn't download the v0.10.0 build just yet, as there are some bugs still in it (notably talkie games like DOTT and SaM not having any vocals). Scout out an old v0.9.0 release for now until these bugs are fixed.
