App quitting on loading screen

Post by moonmonkey »

This is very strange, I just installed ScummVM 0.11.0
When I launch the app it displays the loading screen for 5 seconds and then quits back to the springboard.

iPod touch 1.1.3

Any ideas?

Hi all :)
First of all I want to congradulate all the Scummvm team for this project!!
I had it installed in a SE p910i and I just loved it..:)
Now I'm a proud owner of an Iphone so...
wanted to install Scummvm on it..
the problem is that I'm too getting this problem...
while Scummvm is loading (for about 5sec) then it stops and I'm back to Springboard.
My Iphone is 1.1.2. and not 1.1.3
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thnx again

I get the same problem after upgrading to dev teams official 1.1.3.

I also noticed that after trying to install scummvm, this happen to all apps that i try to install. It just kicks me back to springboard.

Hm, I have no 1.1.3 to test, but fom what I've read is that 1.1.3 executes programs not as the "root" user (as it used to do su up til 1.1.2), but as the "moble" user instead. So as a wild guess, try setting your file attributes to 777, to give all users all rights to execute the files.

Ok, now that I have upgraded to 1.1.3, i can not confirm this bug in my phone. ScummVM runs normal, at least for me.

I Solved my problem. Its becouse the disk space.

Here is what i did using ssh:

cd /
cp -pr /Applications /var/root
mv Applications Applications.old
ln -s private/var/root/Applications /Applications

restart iphone.

if all seems to work, just delete the Applications.old

This will also fix the diskspace so that you now have 8gb to install applications with.

The general recommendation is to use 1.1.2 for homebrew, for now :). 1.1.3 has some issues.

Temporary fix: SSH into your device and do 'chmod a+s /Applications/ScummVM.app/ScummVM'
