Inherit The Earth (Wyrmkeep release)

Post by Raziel »

Hi there,

i just received my shiny copy of Wyrmkeeps re-release of ITE.
(Which i, of course, hope to be bugfuxed - speech in intro and such)

Put it in and tried to add it to ScummVM, but suddenly:

MD5s of your game version are unknown. Please, report following data to
ScummVM team along with your game name and version:
ITE.RSC: a6433e34b97b15e64fe8214651012db9

sounds.rsc: e2ccb61c325d6d1ead3be0e731fe29fe

Hmm, well, i remember reading somewhere that the Wryrmkeep release is already
supported or did i dream that?

I am NOT on a CVS build, rather on the 0.8 release, sorry

Thanks for the great work

You forgot to copy "Inherit the Earth Voices" file.

And besides, speech fas fixed in the very first Wyrmkeep re-release (this one is fourth).

AHHHH, i don't have any "Voices" files on my CD :-(

I pointed Scumm straight into the GAME/ITEDATA dir and got the before mentioned

I looked again after your post, but only found a file called
INHERITT.HEE sized 434.830.787 in the main CD dir.
MD5SUM: 7a34787e18f9056e0e1475ca7592986f INHERITT.HEE

Help?

Nearly forgot, there aren't any Audio Tracks either on this CD???

You don't specify which OS do you use, but apparently it doesn't understand Joilet extension to CD9660 file system. It deals with long file names, and INHERITT.HEE is the beginning of "Inherit the Earth". md5 matches, so just rename that file to "Inherit the Earth Voices" on your HD and put contents of itedata/ folder along it.

No, but Wyrmkeep released ITE Soundtrack recently. It's a separate Red Book audio CD, i.e. the kind you put into your CD deck.

Thanks for the hints (and sorry for being such a lamer), it's found by ScummVM now.
One question though, i get a massive "white" noise as soon as sound output starts,
i can hear the narrator talking (very low), but cannot make out music, but that
could easily be due to the noise.

Is this a known problem with the re-release, again, i'm not on the latest cvs,
so it may already be fixed?

Just for the info:
I'm on Amiga OS4 and thought i already have a Joilet capable CD-FS.
mmm, well, maybe not :-)

No, this part of the code wasn't touched since 0.8.0. This is definitely a bug, that white noise is supposed to be a music. As I understand, Amiga is big endian? Please, submit a bugreport. Another question is, are you able to compile for Amiga? If not, that's not a problem as we have amiga builder, just testing will take more time.

Ahem, i just started porting games to AmigaOS4 myself, so i'd say (for such a big project a nogo),
i could try but will get stuck very soon i fear :-(

Amiga is Big Endian, yes. Bugreport's about to be sent
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph ... tid=418820

Testing is possible for me this week, then the work will start again.

Thank you very much
