Requesting.. game data on host device?

This is what it says in the readme of the recent ps2 0.9.1 release. I wonder if it would also be possible implementing the option to read game data over network on a host device. I already heard that this might result in bad performance on some games. But still I think it would be an improvement to give this a try. I am using a ps2 v14 without HDD support and also USB is no option for me, besides CD/DVD. I wonder if more people would be interested in host support...
