Won't save games

I went to the FAQ section and tried to follow this:

5.14. I get "Failed to save game state to file&#58; xxx"

Check save path in Options->Paths->Save Path. That should point to writable directory.

but when I go into Sam and Max and hit F5 to save it it does nothing and every once in awhile when I'm playing it says "Failed to save game state to file: xxx". When I go to Options when I'm in the game since thats the only place I see Options, and there is not "Path" under Options. What do I do now?

Please, read the forum rules regarding submission of bugs

You haven't specified a lot of things, like your OS or the game version. At first glance, it sounds like a persmission problem but you haven't provided any useful info

The path option is in the general settings BEFORE starting a game (ScummVM main screen)

Hello im sorry if this is a bug that needs reporting but I have this problem too, when I try to save it says "Cannot save game state samnmax.spo1" my OS is XPpro and my save paths for sam and max are c:program files/ScummVM and the same for the theme path . Sorry if I have caused any trouble and if I have I will try to put it right thanks.
