theoretically all you should need to do is to put the lame executable in either the same directory as the tool executable is in or in the path

the compress_* tools should then take the audio out of the original monster.sou file, compress them to mp3 and put them into the new .so3 file automatically

at least afaik

I don't recommend compression, I find the DS is barely powerful enough to handle sam & max with uncompressed audio. It would be horrible compressed.

The files aren't that big, really (but then I have 2x 1gb SD cards ;))

Everywhere else recommends using compression :/

I don't have a lame executable, plus, as I said I'm on a mac. :(

Confused!!! :S

everywhere else recommends using compression because everywhere else has FAR more processing power than the DS :P

ScummVM DS does support compressed audio, but I wouldn't recommend using it. Trust me, just use monster.sou - it works fine.

I found a lately released SD card of the similar function as Nintendo SD card but the price is lower, it is Media gamer, you can go to their website to have a look, it will help you save money, the URL is http://www.mediagamer2.com/en/

The cards that work with ScummVM DS are only the cards listed on the ScummVM DS website. Other cards most likely do not work. That includes this Media Gamer one, which I had not heard of until you posted your message.
