Someone help me in Monkey2?

Post by isrnick »

The game is detected properly, but I receive this error message when I try to play the game:

Code: Select all

Looking for monkey2
Trying to start game 'Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge'
WARNING: ScummEngine: unable to locate game data at path 'D:\GAMES\Monkey2\'!
WARNING: Failed to instantiate engine for target monkey2-1!
Someone could help me?

I don't know... It's strange that the target is called "monkey2-1". As far as I know, the "Add Game" dialog would only add a target like that if "monkey2" was already taken, but that shouldn't be a problem.

What files are in D:\GAMES\Monkey2\?

That's a strange list of files for Monkey Island 2, at least compared to the English version I have. Which version (language, etc.) of the game is this?

That list looks like a file list for Monkey Island *1*, not 2.

Yes, but the file size of his monkey.001 seems to be approximately the size of my corresponding Monkey Island 2 file, and the game detector will still detect Monkey Island 2, even if I rename the files...

What happens if you rename them to MONKEY2.000 and MONKEY2.001?

Is this! Now the game is working!

That is strange, with the wrong names, the game is recognized, but when I try to play, it don't work... Why?
