Sound distorted in Sam&Max

Post by mikemelone »

Hi,

first of all, I would like to thank the scummVM and scummVM DS team for their efforts. It's simply amazing to play all the great adventure games again on a portable device. Chapeau!!

I have one problem though: I have converted the monster.sou that comes with Sam&Max CD version according to the instructions on the scummVM DS page. However, all sound effects and speech in the game are distorted and not understandable. Any clue how to solve this?

Thanks,

Mike

Commpressed MP3 speech will always be slow on ScummVM DS, as the DS is just not fast enough to decompress the audio, which can make the audio stutter. I would only suggest using it as a last resort if your card cannot fit the uncompressed audio.

It works better on some of the older games which leave more CPU time free to do the decompression.
