0.9.0 release sound problems

Post by knakos »

Dear users,

As you may have noticed 0.9.0 of scummvm produces some weird errors with some speech/sound configurations. After much effort the "bugs" are the result of illegal optimizations performed by the copiler. I suggest all users to download the fixed binary. Please let me know if any problems remain with this new version.

Hello,

all the OGG related bugs are solved. At least for me the Monkey Island CD Version or Zak MacKracken FMTOWNS are running nice with this version.

Also the high_sample_rate bug for Simon the Sorcerer has gone.

As I said i'm using the games with Ogg compressed Audio on my Dell Axim X50v (with WM5 upgrade).

If it is needed, I can also test it with mp3 compressed or uncompressed Audio.

Should I post also a reply in my bug reports or is it ok here in this forum?

kind regards

Frank

In case you haven't noticed, the updated 0.9.0a build includes this bugfixed binary.

You didn't understand
I've posted because the bug exists even with your new build (v0.9.0a) which doesn't fix it!

Look at the bugtracker http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph ... tid=418820

I know, that's why it's still open in the bugtracker. I was reffering to the thread topic, namely "0.9.0 release sound problems".

@bug 1515389

ScummVM searches the defined cluster files from "cd.inf" in root "\" and not where "cd.inf" is located (i.e "\SD-Card\ScummVM\sword2\")!

Realy funny!

When you copy "General.clu", "Players.clu", "SCRIPTS.clu" and "TEXT.clu" to root then ScummVM launches Broken Sword 2 :p
It also doesn't metter what files they are actually! I created zero byte dummies

btw: ScummVM crashes with the cutscenes provided at ScummVMs download section!
