I don't think scalers work on hi-res games (640x480~ and up). It's never worked for me either.

Every game and game engine is programmed/scripted differently. Sierra games allowed music to play when the game is paused. LucasArts games didn't.

I've made screenshots in DOSBox for ages. They were all fine. They're raw screenshots, though, and ignore any filter or scaler options you've selected. Video capture with the built-in ZMBV codec works ...

Both games (along with Willy Beamish which was also released at some point) were made by Dynamix which was a subsidiary of Sierra (like Coktel). Definitely awesome games. I've been waiting to see them ...
