Now that's what I call fair. Some people can just download it, some have to buy it. I'm not a fan or Dr. Who, so I don't really mind. I'm not the one to say no to a good adventure game, though. I'm a nice guy, so I won't try to proxy my way around the IP filter. It would be nice if someone [Red Brea...

The TG16 version of Loom is not listed on the datafiles page, so it's safe to say it's not supported. You could always play it using a PCE / TG16 emulator on your PC. There is one for PlayStation 2 as well, but I've never used it so I can't say anything about the compatibility.

That's what a kid from the 80s would say if you asked him about the year 2000, and yet, we're still pumping petrol. You can always hope for a hoverboard from Mattel.

You'd be surprised to hear what gets thrown away, no matter how valuable it is. Read this comment for example.

What fingolfin said, plus AGS will not be supported by ScummVM any time soon. I'd go ahead and say never, but that's so ... final. One never knows. We've had "add AGS support" discussions here earlier and ScummVM developers did comment on the subject several times. Here's one example.

No, it won't. Only legitimate PlayStation 2 discs will boot and obviously a self-made CD or DVD-R won't read as a legitimate disc.

If you haven't upgraded your PS3 firmware and you still have the OtherOS option, you could install Linux and run the Linux version of ScummVM.

DRM does not equal security at all, so why bother? And more importantly, why make it tough on people who buy a legitimate product? I understand DRM in downloadable software [to a certain extent - a serial number would suffice], but spare the retail versions. Ubisoft and their solution require your c...

Yep, not a DRM solution I'm particulary fond of. If I buy a retail release, I don't want to be forced to activate it online to play the game. Especially not single player games like Half-Life 2 and Portal. I don't think you can call it an "activation" when Steam has to download gigabytes ...

Besides, someone would have to actually make the higher quality models, textures and backgrounds, because as far as I'm aware, no high quality resources were ever released by LucasArts. While models and the corresponding textures wouldn't be the biggest problem, recreating the pre-rendered backgroun...

I think this has been discussed here. Also, if you want a fully portable version of ScummVM, there is one, at PortableApps. It's the 0.10.0 version, though.

I haven't had any problems with Version B either, and I have finished it on the DS [with extra RAM], PSP and Windows XP. Must be a Mac thing, then.

Both D2D and GG claim their download versions to be DRM-free though. Whoops! Sorry for that. I just assumed they distribute it on their terms and, as usual, add some kind of DRM. I noticed that both on D2D and GG, the Silmarils Collection's publisher is DotEmu. So I guess now the only reason to get...

That they do. My bad. I thought this was a DotEmu exclusive [or a time exclusive, at least]. There's still one good reason to get the collection from DotEmu. Unlike Direct2Drive and GamersGate, they don't add DRM to their games. I don't know how the DRM issue is handled in this particular case, but ...

The best thing they have in their store is the Silmarils Collection . No other website sells these, and the price is fair. They also have some games which can be played online, like Street Fighter II, which is powered by Gametap. Also, they seem to be using a "custom" version of DOSBox - w...

Le Fetiche Maya free from DotEmu

Silmarils' Le Fetiche Maya is available for free for the next two days [the offer will expire on 2010.05.04]. You can grab it from DotEmu's website, and in case anyone was wondering, the game is ran through DOSBox.
